Reviews about Taylor Motor Group - Newark
- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆2018-01-02, by jay goodHad a really bad experience dealing with TMG !!!!! bought a car from newark branch. had it less than a week and had to return it with faults they claim dont exist including not being sold as advertised. We had trouble starting on numerous occasions and both rear seat belts lock and don't release which on one joutney pinned my 4 year old into her car booster seat causing breathing restrictions. we demonstrated this in person to them twice. second instance (videod) shows the manager struggling with the issue that the previous day i had been told by their sales people didnt exist. between arguing that for the money we payed we can't expect a decent quality car and outright refusing to acknowledge the faults i'm having to raise a dispute with my credit card company as they flatly refuse to refund my money , violating my statutory rights under the consumer rights act 2015 article 75. wouldn't have given them 1 star if that was an option. link to video demonstrating the fault they can't find available on request.
- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆2017-09-20, by Dan HullI bought a car of this company back in december, the car had many faults which gradually showed over the 3 months in which I had warranty on the car. Firstly the car had a new mot and as I had never driven a 4x4 I thought it was just noisy, I was soon told by a family member that it needed wheel bearings, £300 each, it needed 2. As I personally couldn't diagnose the issue I took it to a garage after being told to get it fixed, the garage fixed one and then told me that the other had gone too. Not naming names but a manager at TMG told me to get it done if I was to forget about another issue with the car, the keyless entry not working. I, although not happy, agreed just to get it solved this way as I had no car to get to work in. After the garage had started work I was then phoned and told that actually they wernt paying for the 2nd one because, and I quote, taylour motor group said " we think the garage are having our pants down". I was put in the unfortunate position where I had to pay 300 for the other wheel bearing. In amongst this there was one or two niggly things...including the 2 rear wheel bearings going. Another £600 pounds that I will need to spend on the car. And the fact that I was told the car had had a new service as part of the terms of the verbal agreement I had made over the phone. New mot new service, funnily enough I needed a new fuel filter as this one was faulty. I came to find the fuel filter which should have been fitted as part of the full service to be an old one. I also have come to find the air filter, and pollen filter to be old and needing replacing, the list goes on. Yes they bought me a new fuel filter, I had to get that fitted, yes they payed for one wheel bearing. In amongst this I was having dpf issues (diesel particulate filter) this is a common problem with these cars and is sometimes solved with an oil change and a forced regeneration, I payed 40 pounds to a friend at a garage to 're generate it and he told me that he thought it needed a new one, expensive job, luckily the car was under warranty, after i received a 2nd opinion and was again told that if the light keeps coming on it may be too blocked and past help, I would possibly need another one. I contacted taylour motor group and was told that they had never heard of one needing replacing and my regeneration I had done can't have been a proper one as it was too cheap. They offered to pay for it to be regenerated properly by a dpf specialist, feeling like I had no other option I took their advice and got a specialist to 're generate it. About 5 days later the light is back on the car is now just out of warranty and I am left with a vehicle with a knackered dpf. My next bill is going to be between 1200-1800 for a new DPF filter depending if all the sensors come out and go straite into the new one which I am told is unlikely. Overall I feel like I made a huge mistake buying from them, I understand it could be difficult for them as a company to help me out as I am a long way away and couldn't just pop it back for them to see, but I have been made to feel like I was a nuisance to them, once they had my money and they had spent some extra money on the car replacing a bearing and a leaking windscreen also and then paying for a dpf regeneration by a specialist, all jobs covered by warranty under the consumer rights act, it was like they weren't bothered. Not including parts for the service they should have done but didn't, I will have had to pay over 900 pounds and then whatever this dpf filter is going to cost me in the next two weeks. If the car wasn't such a disaster I would have sold it but I don't have the heart to sell someone a vehicle in such poor fettle. Needless to say I am sick to my stomach about this purchase and the one star review was generous.
